Duck Egg Side Board for Easter Dinner

Hello. I wanted to squeeze in this post before we leave for the weekend to my in-laws. I had a client contact me to have a side board re-done. She really likes the over distressed look, which isn't my forte. Thank goodness she put her trust in me, because the piece turned out fabulous. Unfortunately the hardware is not on, as they're still drying on my garage floor. And I'm pretty sure I won't be able to lug this out to take a picture before she comes next week. So here it is. Ready for her to show off at Easter Dinner!

I actually had two firsts with this side board.
1. Over distressing (baby steps, next time I will do more)
2. Using Duck Egg Chalk Paint by Annie Sloan

I love the tone.

Lots of extra distressing.

Before and after.

Hope you liked my first Duck Egg project. I think you might see more of this color. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your weekend.

Party Time!

  4. What a gorgeous piece! I'm almost finished one in a similar colour, just couldnt use chalk paint as its veneer. It is a beautiful colour, one that most people love :-) Are you going to re-use the original handles?

    1. Thank you. Yes the client would like them done in Mat Black, using rustoleum. Works like a charm.

  10. I found you through Coastal Charm...Your cabinet project is pretty! I have an old buffet that I'm trying to decide whether or not to paint...this inspires me, and I've always loved that color.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on anything I post. It's kinda like going to the post office, I giggle like a school girl when I receive a new comment.
