Happy Monday!! Well not really. It's still freezing here, and I'm dreaming of the sun. It always makes me jealous when I see other bloggers photos with green grass and flowers in the back ground. I WISH! I have tried to convince my husband to no avail that we should move to nicer weather. Sadly, its not happening anytime soon:(
Back in December I came across this great post by createinspireme. She had turned an old headboard into a DIY chalk board. I had one of these bad boys sitting in my furnace room. Picked it up a year before hoping to refinish it for my oldest, but she changed her mind.
Here's my finished Chalk Boards. I smile that I got 2 from 1. Doesn't everyone love BOGO's?
I had the knobs saved and added some Rustoleum Oil Rubbed Bronze. My fav stuff.
If you like this DIY, please vote for me here by clicking my photo on the East Coast Creative. Check out their blog, really cool projects!. Mine is way at the bottom #210. I would love to make the team!!
Thanks for stopping in and take care. {or stay warm if you are living up North}

Wow! That is a great way to upcycle an old headboard. Your chalkboards turned out so well!
ReplyDeleteThanks! xo
DeleteNow that's about the coolest chalkboard I have ever seen. The brown headboard was bah, but painted like this it makes a cool chalkboard or headboard! LOVE IT!
ReplyDeleteThanks Heather!! xo
DeleteOh my word, you've SO got to be kidding me! I'm not even lying. I clicked on to this from The Power Of Paint party because I picked up that SAME headboard free a while back, and was going to divide it in two and turn it into chalkboards just like you did! Wow, great minds think alike?! However, you went one step further than I was going to - added knobs!!!! SO CLEVER and cute!!!!!!! When I eventually do this to mine - I'll try and remember to put a link to this. I'll pin it. :)
ReplyDeleteI wish I could find more. Especially with the perfect flat space for the chalk board portion.
Deleteoh and I'd love for you to add my Trash 2 Treasure Tuesday link party to your list! :) Missed it this wink since Linky Tools hard drive crashed, or so the rumor was. But next week it should be back to norm.
ReplyDeleteDone and done. Thanks Kammy.
DeleteOk I am Never walking away from another headboard. Not after seeing this. Thanks for showing us how.
ReplyDeleteYay!! Me too!
DeleteOh my! That headboard was seriously ugly before.... NOT anymore, thanks to you!!

ReplyDeletelove the chalkboard(s). Laughed when you talked about moving someplace warmer as we live in Texas and yesterday (on March 2nd) it snowed and sleeted at the same time and we now have 3 inches of snow covering everything and don't expect to get above 12 degrees today!
ReplyDeleteLove your chalkboards! Repurposing at it's best!
