Headboard Chalk Board DIY

Happy Monday!! Well not really. It's still freezing here, and I'm dreaming of the sun. It always makes me jealous when I see other bloggers photos with green grass and flowers in the back ground. I WISH! I have tried to convince my husband to no avail that we should move to nicer weather. Sadly, its not happening anytime soon:(

Back in December I came across this great post by createinspireme. She had turned an old headboard into a DIY chalk board. I had one of these bad boys sitting in my furnace room. Picked it up a year before hoping to refinish it for my oldest, but she changed her mind.

Here's my finished Chalk Boards. I smile that I got 2 from 1. Doesn't everyone love BOGO's?

I had the knobs saved and added some Rustoleum Oil Rubbed Bronze. My fav stuff.

If you like this DIY, please vote for me here by clicking my photo on the East Coast Creative. Check out their blog, really cool projects!. Mine is way at the bottom #210. I would love to make the team!!

Thanks for stopping in and take care. {or stay warm if you are living up North}

  2. Now that's about the coolest chalkboard I have ever seen. The brown headboard was bah, but painted like this it makes a cool chalkboard or headboard! LOVE IT!

  3. Oh my word, you've SO got to be kidding me! I'm not even lying. I clicked on to this from The Power Of Paint party because I picked up that SAME headboard free a while back, and was going to divide it in two and turn it into chalkboards just like you did! Wow, great minds think alike?! However, you went one step further than I was going to - added knobs!!!! SO CLEVER and cute!!!!!!! When I eventually do this to mine - I'll try and remember to put a link to this. I'll pin it. :)

    1. I wish I could find more. Especially with the perfect flat space for the chalk board portion.

  12. love the chalkboard(s). Laughed when you talked about moving someplace warmer as we live in Texas and yesterday (on March 2nd) it snowed and sleeted at the same time and we now have 3 inches of snow covering everything and don't expect to get above 12 degrees today!

I'd love to hear your thoughts on anything I post. It's kinda like going to the post office, I giggle like a school girl when I receive a new comment.
